With many years' experience of helping musicians of all ages and levels reach their musical ambitions, I teach everyone and anyone who shows a desire to learn clarinet, bass clarinet or sax, no matter what their current level. From complete beginners to more experienced players wishing to improve their technique or those preparing for exams - everyone of all ages and standards is welcome!

Lessons take place at my home in Sydenham, SE26. Online lessons via Zoom are also available.

what will i learn?

Whatever you want to achieve, my lessons will help you become a well-rounded and confident musician.

My job is to help you:
 

• play the clarinet or saxophone to the best of your ability by giving you a solid grounding in technique

• explore and learn about the music you want to play

• learn to play different types of music

• give you the skills and confidence to play with other musicians

• have a lot of fun along the way!

 

Every student is different, so lessons are individually tailored to you, to ensure you reach your goals. Whether that’s the traditional graded pathway, joining a band or orchestra or simply playing for yourself - or maybe a bit of everything - is up to you!

 

Exams are by no means compulsory, but I prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity grades if required, with 100% pass rate at distinction or merit. 

 

Adult beginners and returners are especially welcome. If you’re taking up clarinet or sax in later life, or coming back to it after a long break, it’s never too late to learn or brush up long-forgotten skills.
