With many years' experience of helping musicians of all ages and levels reach their musical ambitions, I teach everyone and anyone who shows a desire to learn clarinet or sax, no matter what their current level. From complete beginners to more experienced players wishing to improve their technique or those preparing for exams - everyone of all ages and standards is welcome!

Lessons take place at my home in Sydenham, SE26. Online lessons via Zoom are also available.

what will i learn?

Whatever you want to achieve, my lessons will help you become a well-rounded and confident musician.

My job is to help you:
 

• play the clarinet or saxophone to the best of your ability by giving you a solid grounding in technique

• explore and learn about the music you want to play

• learn to play different types of music

• give you the skills and confidence to play with other musicians

• have a lot of fun along the way!

 

Every student is different, so lessons are individually tailored to you, to ensure you reach your goals. Whether that’s the traditional graded pathway, joining a band or orchestra or simply playing for yourself - or maybe a bit of everything - is up to you!

 

Exams are by no means compulsory, but I prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity grades if required, with 100% pass rate at distinction or merit. 

 

Adult beginners and returners are especially welcome. If you’re taking up clarinet or sax in later life, or coming back to it after a long break, it’s never too late to learn or brush up long-forgotten skills.
